Oddpodz Connects Creative People Through The Muzeum

December 6, 2007

Oddpodz, is a social networking site for creative people. Oddpodz launched its Beta site earlier this year and in six months, the network has grown rapidly with creative thinkers. What could be the attraction to Oddpodz?

Well, Oddpodz social networking members are not teenagers, in fact, their average age is 37. They are from all over the world; they're super creative and they primarily work as professionals in creative service industries, such as ad and marketing agencies, PR firms, and many are business entrepreneurs. They want more purposeful content that provides information to help grow their businesses; they need help locating trusted resources; and they would like to have a place online to go to be inspired to tackle creative challenges. And that has not been a challenge for Oddpodz.

But could there be something else? My curiousity paid off as I found out a place where creatives from... [More]

Will Safe, Clean Social Sites be Good Alternatives?

December 6, 2007

I recently wrote a post about a new social network called ConnectHit, launched on November 1 which claims to offer a safe, clean, fun alternative to popular sites such as Myspace and Facebook. But due to the huge attention that these popular social sites are gaining, it seems that little has been said about ConnectHit especially in the media.

After one month of launch, ConnectHit is having 12 members, 5 up from when I wrote the post on November 12. That's not really bad for a new social site. The site's got a user friendly interface and an interesting look. So what is really up? Is there a problem with the marketing? I'm hoping that David Zoffer, the founder of ConnectHit is asking these questions and more.

While we wait to see an increased traffic and membership strength from ConnectHit, an eye into another social network that...

The new social networking site launched October 18, 2007 is geared towards connecting engineers, IT and other tech professionals. With several social networking sites for professionals on the web today such as LinkedIn, Ryze, etc you may wonder what difference TechiesClubHouse would make in the competition for dominance.

Well, you can consider the network as a niche community specially designed for the tech professionals. Besides the usual features found in most other social networking sites, the major feature for TechiesClubHouse will be the discussion forums. As a metter of fact, one major section of the forums is dedicated to Careers and Career talk. Facebook Innovates Facebook Ads

November 7, 2007

Facebook is wowing their users with an ads package! The second-leading social netwotking site after Myspace has introduced an innovative plan that helps companies target messages at networks of interested consumers. The move comes as social-networking sites look to turn their large audiences into advertising revenue.

The new innovation called Facebook Ads, directs ads to people who link to the Web pages that companies create on the site. Companies then send ads to that person, and the ads are visible on his or her network of friends. The move comes as social-networking sites look to turn their large audiences into advertising revenue.

With the system's ability to target networks of linked friends, Facebook is now a threat to Google, the Internet search engine giant that has made a fortune delivering ads to consumers who use its online search service. But it comes with a risk. There is no...

Yahoo! Kickstarts a New Social Network

November 5, 2007

Who would think that the Internet search giant Yahoo! would not want to have a share of the fast-growing online social network market? Just a few days ago rival Google teamed up with MySpace to tackle Facebook's dominance in the social network market. Now, the heat is on!

Yahoo! has launched Kickstart, an online social network that connects college students, graduates and alumni professionals on the job market. In creating Kickstart, Yahoo! fancied Facebook's fashion as a US college network, thus Kickstart's users build a profile entering their college details, photo and any other revelant information.

However, while Facebook is widely acknowledged as a social arena, rather than a professional one, Kickstart aims to create a professional network allowing users to find internships and jobs, or get career advice and mentorship. The site allows people to create a professional profile, browse company profiles and network with peers, professors, alumni...
